After our rebuilding season last Fall (2007), The Vienna Hurricanes met their objective of staying competitive. While they started off rough with a couple of big losses, they worked hard and kept up their spirits. They finished the season strong enough to remain in division one.
They have worked hard all winter long. Their training combined conditioning and foot skills. They also competed at indoor for two intense sessions.
They picked up a new player, Brooke.
They are ready for a new season in ODSL Division 1. It is going to be another interesting season. They have to work through participation issues as many girls have make their respective high school teams. There is, however, a new sense of accomplishment and with it, hope for a winning season.
Coming off a 5-0-3 record and taking first place in ODSL division 2, the Hurricanes have gone through some changes. For starters, we have a new coach. Also, we lost our team manager, as well as a couple of players. However, we got Hanna back and picked up five wonderful players from the Old Dominion Football Club Lady Dragons.
While this season (Fall 2007) can be considered a rebuilding year, through some hard work and a little luck, we have a coach with excellent credentials and a fresh crew of 16. We all eagerly await the start of the season to begin mitigating any problems stemming from the unfamiliartiy of a new coach and the new girls.
All-in-all, things look promising and we are all ready for an exciting season. Many thanks to all for their hard work in bringing this all together. We still have work to do to make sure everything works out with our new Purcellville friends and players, as well as support the coach.
